8/26/04 M8 The Lagoon Nebula in Hydrogen Alpha
The Lagoon is a cool nebula with lots of interesting knots and dust lanes. I have been spending a lot of time working on PEC training and tracking improvements as well as collimation. After another night of tweeking I decided to rip off a few shots of this beautiful object. I went unbinned at F6.3, with unguided 60 second images. The Moon was out and bright, having an HA filter means no worries about the Moon, sweet! Longer exposures would ahve been better, the smaller version looks much tighter and smoother than the unbinned shot.
