12/15/04 M43 Nebula in Orion
Everyone forgets about M43, he is completely overshadowed by his spectacular big brother, M42 The Great Orion Nebula. Most shots of M42 include M43, although he is rarely mentioned. I took this close up at F10. Even at this high magnification M42 is prominent in the bottom portion of the image! Lots of swirling dust in this area, and I like the colors. Once again I used 5 minute subexposures, which are a bit long for my mount at F10. The image could have used twice as much data as I've got here.
